Well ladies and gentleman, we have a decision! We decided no. Why you may ask? Well, specifically long before we even started this adoption process we felt that the Lord had in mind a specific child for us, including a name, gender, and race. When told about this little boy, it did not match up with what we feel came from the Lord. However, we also know that what God has for us may not be this child, but possibly a different child down the road. So, we are open to any gender and any race for that reason alone. As both of us prayed on it this afternoon we both felt a gentle no from the Lord and that a child will come to us in His timing. The perfect child for us! If it was up to us, I think we would take any and every child that came our way. Please pray for this precious little one to get matched soon.
Continue on in your prayers for us as well! Thanks.

Prayers Needed Please
Yesterday, I received a call from our social worker about a little boy (1 week old) from Texas up for adoption. We had to make a quick decision about whether we wanted to put our names in for the adoption because of the nature surrounding his adoption. We originally said no because of finances. However, we received a second call today involving this boy and we are again praying. They need a family for this boy badly and so our decision has to be quick. So, I'm not sure how many of you read our blog but if those of you who do would pray that God would provide us with the correct decision, we would appreciate that.
In other news, God came through with our money needed for the home study! I don't know why I doubt him, but I did.
Off for now, please pray. I'll update when I can.

Where we are at?
We seem to be getting lots of questions of where we are at in our adoption journey. I come to the blog hoping that some of you read it so I can answer your questions. As of now, we have turned in all of our home study paperwork. We can pretty much put our name out there to be matched with a birth mom at anytime. However, we could be picked rather quickly and thus need the finances to pay for the adoption right then. So, for now, our home study is complete (or just about) but we are not sending it out to agencies yet. Why you wonder? If a birth mom would pick us, imagine the hurt and pain she would feel if she later found out that we did not have the finances right then. That is not something we want to do to a birth mom. This is a very emotional processes for both the birth mom and ourselves, and we need to be ready financially before we put our home study out there.
Chris and I constantly keep talking about how God must be strengthening our faith and trust in Him during this journey. It is a complete and total faith walk as we have no control over any of the decisions. It is all up to Him.
So where are we at financially? We have gotten some great responses to our adoption. We are so thankful to those of you who have committed to praying and supporting us. Without you, this adoption would not be taking place. Right now, we have a need of about $1,000 to pay for part of our home study. This is a fee we did not expect to pay so soon. However, as I told our social worker, we believe in a God who supplies our every need and we know He will supply this need. If you would join us in prayer that God would provide the $1000 we need by this Friday, that we would appreciate it.
Thanks for checking out our blog. One day soon, I hope to be posting on here that God has picked out the perfect child to join our lives. :)

Faith the size of a mustard seed
Matthew 17:20-Jesus answered, "Because your faith is too small. I tell you the truth, if your faith is as big as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there', and it will move. All things will be possible for you".
As a child this was one of my (Vanessa's) very favorite verses. Of course, at that point, I had such childlike faith. So many times I wish I was a child again so I could have that faith all over again. Lately, if has been very hard for me to have faith in Jesus that He will provide for our adoption. Chris does so much better with it then I do. He constantly declares around our house that, "God is going to provide, you will see.". I realized today though while praying about it that I can have faith like I did as a child. It may only be a tiny bit, the size of a mustard seed, but God will honor that and provide me with even more faith.
In other news, God did give me faith today in the forum of a letter. Well, actually, our first support back. Praise God! Thanks for praying with us and supporting us.
Keep faith!
